Death By Chocolate!

For date night last week, Brian and I decided to try out one of our latest recipes. We LOVE to watch America's Test Kitchen, and they recently did this yummy old fashioned chocolate cake so we decided to give it a try. I imagined it would be the kind of cake that Marie off of "Everybody Loves Raymond" would make. I won't even begin to tell you the fat content in the frosting alone, let alone the cake! Of course it was going to be good! I didn't know if it was going to be worth all of the work that went into it making it from scratch and doing some slightly complicated procedures for the batter and the frosting. IT WAS WORTH IT! This cake was rediculous! I am glad that it is gone now so that I don't obsess over when I will be able to have my next slice. It is also probably the reason I am 5 lbs heavier than the last time you saw me :) Still worth it!Here is the finished product.
The long awaited slice...............
It was getting late, and I think all of that chocolate was getting to Brian,
What a cute couple!

Time by Ellen. What?

Apparently I only know how to decipher what time it is by what is on TV. Which is odd because I don't watch much TV during the day but I usually flip it on around 3:00 to catch the Ellen show, so what happens when they change the time of the only show that you manage to catch? Well for starters you think that it is 4:00 when it is over, when in all actuality it is 5:00 and you totally should have thought about what you were going to make for dinner! Thanks ABC for disrupting my routine and making me feel like an idiot! Don't worry, the kids didn't starve and I managed to scrounge something besides cold cereal together :)

1st Day of Pre- School!

I can't even believe that my little man started school yesterday. I have never seen anyone so excited in my life!!! I would love to remind him when he is a teenager of this day :) Apparently I am already considered "uncool " since Will refused to sit by me during orientation- sigh- he was just so excited to sit by his new friends.
Will had so much fun shopping for his backpack, his final decision was the Transformers backpack that coordinates with his Transformers folder. This is his teacher Miss Heather. She is so awesome and Will loves her already.
Last I checked Will was still wearing this necklace that his teacher made for him that proudly shows that he survived his 1st day of school!

I love it when Dad does my hair!

I love watching Brian with his little girl. Especially when he does her hair! Morgan wasn't sure what to think and kept pulling these funny faces and with her "amazing" hair do, it was too funny! This hair do lasted for 2 days and didn't budge until we bathed her and washed her hair.

Happy Birthday Grey Bear!

So, Grey's B-day was the day before Morgan was born and I am so slow posting pics, but here is my big 2 year old! He is of course obsessed with balls of all shapes and sizes and any sport so that is what he chose for his cake. We had fun swimming on his b-day and then had cake and Ice cream. He could have cared less what he got for his b-day, he just walked around the kitchen saying "birthday cake!" When anyone came to the door "Birthday cake!" when he talked to anyone on the phone "Birthday cake!" In fact Aunt KT came down last week and brought him a cake mix because that is still all he could talk about 2 weeks later! Birhtday Cake!
