Me and my Peeps....

For FHE tonight we decided to make homemade Peeps. I have seen these before, but when I saw them on "The Idea Room" I Loved how kid friendly she made them. The only change I would make next time would be to add more flavoring. Either more vanilla, maybe some peppermint or something. They were really good, but a little flat flavored. I made the marshmallows earlier today and then tonight we punched out the easter shapes with cookie cutters. Then you wipe either side with a damp paper towel and dip in colored sugar. So easy, so fun. We even made our own colored sugar! Who knew it was so easy?
I had to borrow my neighbors cutters and they were a wee bit complex for the Marshmallows. I will be on the look out for a very simple bunny and chick shapes for next year.
Grey is my sugar addict (wait...... what kid isn't?) He was mesmerized by the 3 bowls of colored sugar. I think they would have had just as much fun licking their fingers and just dipping them into the sugar. (which they did anyway:)
Bunny, Chick, Egg. They still turned out cute.
Mo mainly licked the sugar off her marshmallow and re-dipped to re-coat several times.

Will downed several marshmallows and then we decided that we also had to try the marshmallows in Cocoa. It was so sticky good! We promptly gave Dad a big kiss on the cheek. He didn't even see it coming, it was too good.

Tripple D #2

After reviewing all of the diners, last night we decided to try
"Rick's Press Room" in Meridian, ID. The main reason I wanted to try this place was these beauties....
Garlic Chicken Wings
B and I LOVE anything WINGS. So of course, we were so excited to try these babies.
They were ridiculous!!!!! I could have eaten the whole plate myself, but B made me share.
This was the other reason I wanted to go to this place....
Potato Encrusted Salmon
Also AMAZING!
B went for the rib-eye
Crazy Good!
I was SO FULL when we were done, but so happy. And then just as they are giving us our check, they give us this....

On the house!!! It was a chocolate bread pudding.....I wish I wasn't so full because it was so good. I have never had bread pudding before and loved it! We cannot wait to come back, we will definitely be returning to Rick's.

Diner's Drive-ins and Dives....#1

So as some of you know, B and I are food network junkies. We love to cook and create new delicious things. For spring break, my Mom took my little sweeties for a few days and we decided to head on an exotic trip to Boise, ID. He he. We love Boise and haven't been here since we lived here 4 years ago. One show on Food Network that I love is" Diner's, Drive-ins, and Dives." Tripple D, if you are an avid watcher :) Anyhow, there are about 5 or 6 spots he tried here in Boise and we decided to hit them all. Last night we tried Pizzalchik (pizza salad chicken) quirky name. It was really fun to try some new things. B tried the shroom roasted Chicken.Doesn't look like much from the outside. It is not snowing, just bugs on the windshield, I was too cold to get out and take a decent pic.
I tried the Elk Sausage and Wild Mushroom pizza. It was really good, but the flavors were so bold, I could only eat 2 slices, then the rest, I had to pluck some of the toppings off. We wanted to try "wandering Wednesday" where you can try all the pizza's, but we had to get to a hockey game by 7:00 and the wanderers didn't start wandering til 6:00. I would have loved to try more kinds. Like the salmon, artichoke, caper Pizza. That sounded too good.
B tried the shroom roasted Chicken. Wasn't that impressed. The chicken was dry and kinda bland. As a footnote though, B makes a "KILLER" roasted chicken and potatoes and I haven't ordered a chicken at a restaurant that compares to the his.

I think our favorite part of the meal was that it was served with "suga" coke out of a glass bottle. mmmmmmm..... Doesn't get much better than that. We are going to try Rick's Press Room tonight.

Red Faced Cutie!

I love my little Momo Jo. She keeps me hopping, but what I love about her most is she is such a ham and a cheezer! This week my sweet little Mo has changed from this....

And This..............
To this..............Fifths Disease..... Poor little slapped faced Cutie
This has been going around our neighbors kids, and it was only a matter of time I guess. Basically just an ugly, and itchy rash and occasionally a fever. She has it much less than some of the kids I have seen, so I guess I am grateful for that.
I guess under the red mask, she is still the same little Cheezer.....

On the plus side, I have gotten a lot of snuggles and even rocked her to sleep this morning, (which NEVER happens) so I guess I can survive this.

Happy Birthday Cranky Old Lady!

Teenie Weenie is 7 years old!
That makes her 49 in dog years. Her friend Lola decided to throw her a party. Don't they look like the best of friends. Ha ha, not really, Lola loves Teenie, but Teenie is kind of a dog snob, she tolerates Lola more than anything, but I know one day she will warm up and they will be the best of friends someday. One can hope :)Teenie and Lola in their party hats.
Teenie anxiously awaiting her birthday treat.

She looks pretty good for 49 right?!?
I guess she is a little depressed about being one year older! Ha ha! We Love our Teenie Weenie!

I can sew!........ and unpick for that matter!

Okay, so here is my attempt at a pillow case dress. I looked up an instructional video on youtube and decided that sewing in several straight lines should be easy enough. And it really was easy. After I finished it, I didn't like how puffy and mushroom like it was so I unpicked nearly the whole thing and changed it so it is more fitted near the top and I liked it on her a lot more. I need to find a cute top, all I had was a onesie, but it will do for today. Now, If only she would hold still! I plan on fulfilling my obsession with lime green through my daughters clothes :)

Out with the old....

The Boys have outgrown their cars room and we are redecorating with Star Wars. They agreed to sell their old stuff so that we can buy new decor. Let me know if you or anyone you know is interested. I was thinking 35.00ish obo for the lot.

I am a HERO tonight!

My kids LOVED these! and they only take like 5 minutes to prepare. Will and Grey literally fought over the last one. I also wanted it, but decided to be adult about it :) It was a meal I chose specifically for the kids, but Brian and I also liked em. Tonight, it was all about them, no fighting them to stop picking out the veggies, or to clean their plate. It was so pleasant to sit back and be showered by compliments from my 5 and 3 yr old. All good things must come to and end and tomorrow night will be a different story I am sure!

Lollipop ChickenI am addicted to allrecipes.com. I get their daily newsletter and recipe and it help me shake things up a little. Plus all the recipes are reviewed and you can tell before hand if it is good or not.
This recipe was so simple and almost too good to be true.

1. Cut 3-4 boneless chicken breasts into pieces, 1-2 inches
***make sure you salt and pepper the chicken well.
2. Crush 2 cups of potato chips (I used sour cream and onion)
3. Combine 1 egg and 2 tbs of milk
(to add flavor I also added 1/2 packet of ranch dressing as per reviewers suggestions)
4. Dip chicken into egg mixture then into chips and coat in crumbs.
5. Place on greased baking sheet and bake 10 minutes then flip and bake another 10 mintues until golden brown.
6. After removing from the oven, insert a candy stick into each chunk.
7. I served on a platter with 3 dipping sauces (Ranch, Ketchup and Honey Mustard)
